It's official. Well, not quite. But soon! I'm buying a high-def LCD tv this weekend. I even know which one. It's a Philips 7403 series, 42", 1080p, 120hz refresh rate tv with 4 (count 'em) 4 HDMI connectors. It doesn't have that stupid "ambi-light" thing that Philips had tried to flog which did nothing but add to the cost of the set. That NBC commercial took me back. I didn't have color until Walt and I were married and had kids. But I remember when programs started being broadcast in color and my mother, sister and I would sit there watching that damn peacock, saying "Oooo...I'll bet that's beautiful in color.
As for your HDTV, I didn't understand a thing you said. But we DO have a new HDTV (32", though) and tomorrow our HD cable box arrives, so I'll be able to get an inkling of what we actually HAVE.
You will wonder how you ever got along without it.
We got our color set just in time for the start of the fall season in September, 1964! I still remember the first time I saw Lassie in color! She was one beautiful pooch.
