David Mixner in his blog today, July 1st, 2009 , said this:
“For me to be a free man doesn't mean I have to make everyone in America like me. In fact the Constitution protects an unpopular minority from the tyranny of a majority.”
This is what he called it: Gay Apartheid
This is what it is: Gay Apartheid
Politicians can mouth off, Religiosos can mouth off, The Powers-That-Be can mouth off, but the net-net is... gay apartheid. Separate, and mostly unequal.
Enough.
And here's Keith Olbermann interviewing Dan Savage last night on the subject of DADT.
Wait for the payoff at the end. Keith swears up a blue streak and it's absolutely worth the wait.

Hey Ron ... well said. I didn't realize you were doing a blog.
Check mine out one of these days. I don't post on it as often as I would like to, but from time to time I put something up.

I always forget that Blogger (unlike some others) does not automatically make links live.

Mr. Mike!!!!! HI!!
Yeah, I do this blog thingie every once in awhile, too. I used to be better at doing it daily -- until I ran out of daily drama to talk about.
So now I save it up until I get mad enough (or happy enough) to write something.
I'll put a link in my "Reads" list to your site and be sure to check it out every day.
Well you're in luck. I actually got something up today.
Next time you guys will know not to get all goo-goo gah-gah over a politician. Really, when I read the reactions on gay blogs from back in November (stuff like "Yes we did!!") you look like such dopes in retrospect.
Dear Anonymous,
I guess it's fortunate for me, then, that I don't give a rat's ass what I look like. To anybody. Opinions (mine included) are like assholes. Everybody's got one ... and everybody else's stinks. Including yours.
I stand by my assessment from last fall that an African-American Democrat in the White House, even a crappy one, was, is and will remain ten thousand times better than the best Republican.
