His name is Ken Mehlman. I got this Photoshopped Purple Heart(less) from Pam Spaulding's website. I hope she doesn't mind.
This is the face of evil. It is the face of unbridled privilege, self-serving in the extreme. It was born with a sense of entitlement that knew no bounds. It saw what it wanted, it took what it wanted and it gave no thought or feeling to the consequences to other peoples' feelings or lives.
It lived only to serve itself.
Take a good look at it. You are staring into the abyss.
After trashing the lives of millions, it now seeks acceptance and forgiveness from those same people. My people.
If you see it on the street, do not hesitate to cover your children's eyes and to cross to the other side.
Shun this creature. It deserves it.

Republicans Are Sexual Hypocrites (yawn).
First, from the Afghani war zone, we have this:

these are employees of the Wackenhut Corporation, which provides private security for all occasions (baptisms, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, occupying forces, etc.) This is an actual photo (amongst many) taken of Wackenhut employees enjoying a little "down-time" in Kabul, Afghanistan. They are there, ostensibly, to guard American interests, specifically to provide security for the American Embassy in Kabul. Technically they are contractors of the US State Department. Be sure to drop Hillary a line today and let her know what you think of the fine job her contractors are doing in projecting a moral, straight-arrow image of America to ourdefeated enemies foreign allies.
The entire collection of photos shows, clearly, the inately homoerotic nature of most male hazing activities. Not only tolerated, but encouraged, as a way of "bonding" men in combat. Meanwhile, of course, really bonded guys (and gals) are being tossed out of the services left and right because they are gay.
Go figure. And when you have, please let me know, because I'm just fucking dying to know how the Government rationalizes this bullshit. Thank you.
And speaking of bullshit...
On to South Carolina. Man, are we missing out, or what? This sleepy little Southern backwater has, it turns out, been a seething cesspool of roiling, boiling carnality -- and we never knew it! If I'd only known what I know now, I would've moved there years ago! (and you should've too!)
First, there's Governor Mark Sanford. You know, the one with the Argentinian girlfriend in Buenos Aires (not to mention a wife and 4 boys back home).

Then, two days ago, Mike Rogers at Blogactive.com outed the Lt. Governor, Andre Bauer (40 year old "bachelor", and check out THIS gayface):

And to top it all off, the head of the Board of Education, Kristin Maguire, an ultra-conservative, evangelical Christian Republican, appointed by Mark Sanford to head the SC Board of Ed, yet who steadfastly refused to send her four daughters to public school and home-schooled them, instead.... got caught writing salacious porn on the internet. She has resigned "for family reasons."
Here's the hypocrite:
(Oh, wait, that's right. There's not even a wiki on this unqualified beeyatch, let alone any photos.)
Where's the outrage? Remember Howard Beale in "Network"? Isn't it time for us to don our grungy old trenchcoats and to stand up in front of the cameras and yell, "I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!"?
Yes. Yes, it is.

Christianist Hypocrite Asks for Tolerance
Some guy named Jordan Lorance, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, a nonprofit organization of Christian attorneys, has an editorial over on CNN arguing in favor of "tolerance" towards Rick Warren and his appearance on the podium during President-elect Obama's inauguration. Read it by clicking HERE.
He is, of course, incensed, that "we" aren't practicing the same sort of tolerance we are demanding (meaning, of course, that we aren't entitled to tolerance unless we're willing to give it and, therefore, they are justified in denying us tolerance because we're so intolerant --- capeesh?)
He waves the usual flags of America, marriage, motherhood, tradition, bullshit, etc.
And, as usual, I have one question for Mr. Lorance. Where are the n-word-hating cross-burners on the podium? (his answer: "it's not the same." my answer: "yes, it is.")
We will never have peace in the Middle East because both sides intractably hate each other -- for reasons that have nothing to do with anything other than religious beliefs because they are, undeniably, first cousins in all other respects. And they know this but neither side wants to be the first to "drop the rocks" of hatred towards each other because in their society that would be seen as a sign of weakness.
I think it's pretty clear that religious testosterone is behind our problems here, too.

South Cackalakie Lubs Jeebus!

I don't.
The State's Rightists are at it agin... sorry, again. This time down south. WAY down south. Pretty soon you'll be able to get the above referenced 'vanity' plate in the glorious state of South Carolina! Pride of the Confederacy (they fired the first shot against Ft. Sumpter).
But I suppose vanity is not one of the deadly sins as long as you're VAIN for Jesus!
I also suppose that some half-assed country lawyer, posing as the state's attorney-general, actually approved this. Possibly he never heard of the Constitution.
This is the same crowd that claims that they are in favor of "state's rights" yet fight, tooth and nail, to get federal amendments to the Constitution banning gay marriage and banning flag burnings and banning a woman's right to choose. The fucking hypocrites (but it's "OK" to be a hypocrite for Jesus!).
This is the same crowd that claims they are against "social-engineering" by "activist judges" yet see nothing wrong with us, as a nation, shoving an alien form of government down another nation's throat, or shoving the Christian religion down the unwilling throats of millions of Americans, like me, who do not believe in it. And never will.
This is the same crowd that will not be content until every woman is shoved back into a back-alley abortion mill, until every LGBT person is forced to retreat to the closet and until everybody else thinks and feels and acts exactly like them.
Or, as someone else put it today, until we all become members of the
Borg.

Hot Male Teens Wanted! - No Experience Necessary!!
Are you tired of right-wing, closeted homosexuals who hide behind Ms. God’s skirts and spew highly selective venom in order to provide a cover for their own outwardly projected self-loathing denial? I know I am.
I mean, is there anyone over the age of 6 who doesn’t understand, on a deep-down-inside gut level, that despite all the religious rationalizations, the “real” reason behind most rampant homophobia is because that for the ‘phobes to accept homosexuality on a pari passu basis with heterosexuality would be akin to admitting that they, personally, had chosen incorrectly and, in fact, that they had been needlessly missing out on years of hot, steamy fun with the real objects of their sexual longings, i.e., people of the same sex. Only incidentally would it provide a slight, and easily ironed over, wrinkle in their religious beliefs.
To simply accept who they really are would instantly drain all the fun (i.e. “drama”) out of cruising rest stops, bookstores, baths, bars and Senate cloakrooms, sneaking around looking for a little furtive man-on-teen action with a total stranger with whom they would never be obliged to form a lifelong bond. Well, except maybe for the summer.
For them to accept the normalcy of their own innate homosexuality would be to make it as mundane and uninteresting as being straight. Ho-hum. Yawn. “Did you remember to put the trash out honey?”
After all, who wouldn't like to duck into some squalid, XXX video arcade (or Congressional men’s room) to quickly dump a hot, steaming load into a warm, wet, welcoming young male mouth before sneaking back to their utterly boring, thoroughly Christian, All-American lives?
I suspect that Larry Craig would!
And from what I hear, he’s looking for summer interns!
The lucky stiffs. Er. Um.

Another (yawn) Republican Queer
I'd usually launch into my Claude Raines imitation from "Casablanca" about now ("Gambling?? I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!")
But even that seems trite at this point.
Some asshole rightwinger, married with children, self-loathing closet case from Washington State (on the left) has gotten caught (in lingerie, barebacking) with some manwhore (on the right) during some Repuglican conclave, somewhere.
If you're surprised, raise your hand! If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!
If you want to read all the gory details, click here.
In other news...
Still obsessing about that damned coffee-pot, only now I've managed to drag some of my friends into the funfest.
For Halloween this year I'm pretending to be normal. No one will suspect a thing.
I spoke at a 12-Step meeting at 7:30 a.m. this morning. I was told, early on in my sobriety, that I would always have to be willing to go to any lengths to protect my sobriety and that I was never to say "no" to the program. So I said yes. Sometimes I wonder how coherent I am at 7:30 in the morning while still nursing my 1st cup of coffee after a 50 mile bus ride from central NJ into Manhattan.
We have to be quiet for awhile... they're filming scenes for an upcoming Law & Order Criminal Intent episode in our boardroom today.
My stomach is gurgling, it must be lunch time.
Have a great Halloween everybody!

Ann Coulter Nailed in WeHo Gay Eatery!
Please ignore the above photo until later on, when I get around to actually talking about it.
Before you read anything else today, read this about Ann Coulter:
Ms. Coulter was nailed, and nailed good, dining in a West Hollywood Swishery called Murano last night. There's photographic evidence. The place is owned by two dykes. She was called on it and feigned ignorance of the English language. The owner's were appalled but insisted they "had to serve her."
As the article points out, she's clearly a hypocrite who says outrageous things, probably causes unwarranted deaths amongst gay teenagers, and clearly demeans bunches of people merely to make enough money to dine out with her favorite peeps, gay people who can actually stomach her blatant hypocrisy.
Please read the article. I hope you'll be as appalled as I am. Why somebody doesn't slug this bitch is beyond me.
==================================================
Weekend Update.
My brother and I went to see "30 Days of Night" about vampires in Barrow, Alaska during the annual month of darkness up there. It got flayed by the press but my bro' and I are afficianados of the horror genre and we both agreed, it was pretty good and gave us some good frights. This isn't Anne Rice territory. They aren't beautiful nor seductive. They're evil and violent. You've been forewarned.
Then came Sunday morning and catastrophe. (You may now refer to the above photo). The Braun coffeemaker died (that's not a Braun, obviously). After 13 years of faithful service except for 3 years when it lived in my brother's garage while I got sober. I'd already ground the beans and filled it with water. It wouldn't start. Luckily, I had a little spare one that made about exactly 1 cup at a time (I brewed two cups).
So I became a man on a mission Sunday afternoon. To find THE coffeemaker of all coffeemakers. I went to Linens & Things, Best-Buy, Bed, Bad & Beyond, Target and the supermarket.
No dice. Oh, I saw plenty of perfectly suitable coffeemakers, any one of which would've been fine.
But here's the problem. One of my major character defects is indecisiveness, brought about by a fervent need to be "told" what to buy so that when it doesn't work out, I have somebody to blame for it other than myself.
Wait, wait. Let me explain. I don't know how to be decisive. In fact, it pains me to be decisive. If you ask me "Where should we eat?", I'll hem and haw and drag my feet and say, "Oh, why don't YOU choose?" That way, when we both hate it, you can't blame me for your lousy decision! But I can blame you. It's important that I'm always right and you're always wrong.
Brilliant! No??
Look, I'm a recovering drunk and believe me, not exactly a hot-bed of mental health.
I even called everyone I know and left them voicemails asking for advice. The recovering drunks I called are on to my tricks and called me back with "pick the damned thing out for yourself." My earthling friends earnestly offered advice regarding coffeemakers, none of which I intend to take.
I know the one I want. I saw it at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It's the Cuisinart model I posted above. It's metal (indestructible), heavy-duty, and bound to last until I die (which is my goal when purchasing any appliances or automobiles).
So next Saturday, after I get the car serviced and my hairs trimmed, I'm trotting my buns right over to B, B & B and plunking down $80.00 to buy myself a coffeemaker that won't give up the ghost after a measly 13 years.
And if see Ann Coulter I'll be sure to throw a scalding cup in her face, where the damage won't be very noticeable.
I'm tired of fucking two-faced media whores like her.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Boyfriend

Here is a photo of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad swapping spit with a devoted voter and/or boytoy. Note the demurely closed eyes of both gentlemen. That's because they're both imagining that the other is one of the virgin's they hope to deflower in paradise.
As I pointed out yesterday, though, the mullah's get to deflower their virgins here and now. It's good to be the mullah!
Anyway, I wish the camera had pulled back a little for a "full shot" of the gents. I'd like to see if either of them has one leg "cocked-back" in the full "lost in his arms" position.
I wonder how they would look dressed as a nurse and a soldier, in Times Square, on VJ-Day?
Frankly, though, I've seen better porn in a William Higgins video (and that ain't saying much -- Wm. Higgins always specialized in dumber than shit SoCal Bimboys who never did a thing for me). But enough LA-bashing. Back to the Iranians.
We are being whipped into a frenzy of hatred towards them, just as surely as we were whipped into a frenzy of Iraqi-hating a couple of years back.
But that's a subject for another post at another time.
For the time being, know this. Gays are dying out there for no other reason than that they refuse to kowtow to religious fundamentalism.
Here. There. Everywhere.
Defend yourselves. Learn to shoot a gun if necessary. Don't put up with anybody's shit ever again.
You have just as much right to your place in the sun as anyone else does.

Peter Piper Picked A Pecker

The (hopefully soon-to-be erstwhile) Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General Peter Pace, went and shot his mouth off the other day about his personal opinions.
Now as anybody who has ever been in the service will tell you, military personnel don't have personal opinions. At least, not for public consumption, they don't.
I'd be very interested in knowing whether or not he was in uniform during this interview. If he was, he may well have been in violation of DoD Directive 1344.10 (June 15, 1990) which, loosely, prohibits members of the armed forces from participating in partisan political activities while in uniform. Granted, it's targeted specifically against running for office, but you could stretch the point.
And the point really is that whether or not he meant to the CJS has used his bully pulpit much the same way that Mann Coulter used hers.
How demoralizing is it for the closeted gay troops under his command, quietly upholding THEIR end of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" bargain, to know that their ultimate military commander thinks that they are "immoral?"
How is that helpful to morale and group cohesion? Does he honestly think there are 12 gay people in the services? Does not not know that there are thousands upon thousands of gay people in the services, quietly toiling away in the service of their nation? And that, naturally, begs the question, just what fucking planet does this Bozo live on?
When crap like this happens I am always reminded of my favorite story regarding the origins of the "Don't Ask" policy. When President Clinton first proposed issuing an executive order to allow gays to serve openly, and Sam Nunn, then the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and a Georgian Democrat to boot, hit the road with his "Sam and Pony Show" to ask dumbass Bos'ns Mates what they thought of the proposed policy change, I nearly died laughing when I read about the response of one Air Force Pilot:
"If they let gays in the military, I'll resign my commission and join a civilan airline."
The theory being, I suppose, that the recreational air-travel business is a GREAT place to avoid that nasty homosexual element, currently serving drinks and snacks in coach, business and first class... and thank you for flying Continental!

But if the General did resign, what we he do for a living? I don't know what marketable skills Marine Generals have, outside of invading places. I'm sure the General is very good at invading places.... and shooting his mouth off.
Being at the top of the military pile, I don't know who gets to take the CJS to the woodshed. The SecDef, I suppose. That would be Bob Gates. I hope Bob has summoned General Peter to D.C. for a little "come to Jesus" meeting on the subject of keeping his big, fat, yap shut about his personal shit.
Just like he expects all of us Mo's in the military to do!
